Lowpark Cottage dates from the 18th century and stands below Melbreak near Crummock Water.

Crummock Water lies between Buttermere and Loweswater in one of the most beautiful and peaceful valleys in the Lake District.

Besides Melbreak there are many splendid fells within sight and walking distance of the cottage.

The less frequented western side of the Lake District and the Solway coast can be readily explored from Loweswater, and the Border country and Hadrian's Wall are well within a day's drive.

Cockermouth 8 miles, Keswick 10 miles, Carlisle and Penrith 30 miles.

The well known Kirkstile Inn is within 10 minutes walk of the cottage and there is a small shop 4 miles away in Lorton.
